Depending on the purpose and duration of your travel to Senegal, different types of visas will apply to the circumstance. Whether you are planning to go as a tourist, visiting family, or for other issues, you will have to apply for a different Senegal Visa, accordingly. 

If you are a citizen of the country referred to below, you do not need a visa for a stay of fewer than 3 months, but you must have a passport or travel document issued by this country (these documents must have a minimum validity of 6 months).

People with a refugee travel document need a visa.

All other nationals (except visa exempted nationals and Hong Kong, Macao, Kosovo, and Yemen nationals) can obtain Senegal Visa on Arrival.

1. Passport

• Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the return date.
• It also must have at least two blank pages.

2. Two Photos

• Photos should be of passport format, a recent whole-face capture with a light background.
• It must be in the size of 3,5 x 4,5 colored, and the head should take 70-80% of the photo.
• You must be looking straight at the camera with a neutral facial expression (no smile and mouth closed).
• Try to avoid uniforms or colours matching the background.

3. Flight Ticket

• Confirmed return or onward flight tickets

4. Financial Means

• Sufficient financial funds to support your trip

5. Proof of Accommodation

• Valid (existing) hotel/accommodation booking/reservation with the full address (name, street, city, zip code, contact information, booking ref.)
• In case of staying at a private house, submit a copy of the house owner’s resident card (both front and backside) and fill out the address on the application form.

Senegal Visa on Arrival fee

Senegal Visa on Arrival fee is 50 EUR for foreign nationals. The fee may vary depending on your nationality.

Senegal Tourist visa is issued for applicants intending to visit Senegal for tourism and sightseeing. You can apply for a Senegal Tourist visa to realize your tourist activities.

7. Letter from Local Employer/Sponsor (Proof of Occupation)

• The letter must include:
  • Name, postal address, and telephone number of sponsor/company
  • Details regarding the applicant’s working position, starting date of the employment, and salary
  • The timeframe of work leave (expected date to resume duties) and purpose of travel
• Valid trade license copy and company ownership documents (if a person is an owner of the company).
• Letter from University (if student)
• Copy of sponsor’s valid passport and residence visa (if any) to be attached to letter from sponsor (if an applicant is a dependent)

8. Flight Ticket Reservation

9. Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate

• Copy of vaccination booklet

10. For Minors:

• Birth certificate or copy of the family book and travel authorization signed by the holder(s) of parental authority in the forms required under local law, along with a copy of his/her/their identity document (if the minor is not travelling with his/her parents or guardian)
• Letter of consent from parent/s or legal guardian/s, if travelling unaccompanied.
