Suriname Visa Policy

On April 19, 2019, in accordance with the decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Suriname an electronic visa of Suriname and an electronic tourist card were created in cooperation with the Visa Center VFS Global. Thus, citizens of all countries in the world have the opportunity to apply for a Surinamese visa electronically.

All nationals from all countries who normally are required to obtain a visa to travel to Suriname can apply for Suriname E-visa.

The visa-exempted nationals can also apply for E-visa in order to increase their duration of stay (more than visa-exempted days) in Suriname. You will apply for a Suriname E-visa online. You can apply for an e-visa by clicking here. 

Required Documents for Suriname E-visa

Business Visit Visa (Additional documents in case of Business visit):

2. Extract/Certificate of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry (not older than 6 months)

Suriname E-visa fee is 15-360 USD depending on the category of E-visa. 
 

Suriname Temporary Stay Visa

The temporary stay visa grants entry to Suriname on the basis that you will be applying for a residence permit. It enables you to enter Suriname as a potential resident and stay while you apply for residency.

Authorization for Suriname Temporary Stay

There can be several reasons for applying for Suriname Temporary stay visas. You can find the required documents and additional information about all these reasons below.

Required Documents to Apply for a Suriname Family Reunion Visa:

If you are applying for the Authorization for Temporary Stay (MKV) for purposes of family reunion, you have to upload the following documents for Temporary Stay Visa:

1. Passport cover page
2. Passport bio page
3. Scan of written or stamped passport pages of last 3 visits
4. Birth certificate (with legalization)
5. Certificate of “good conduct” (from the police department, with legalization)
6. Recently medical report or health certificate (not older than 3 months)
7. Bank statements or other documents/information proving sufficient financial means during the stay in Suriname.
8. An authenticated copy of the temporary stay permit of the country of residence (for a family reunion).
9. If married/divorced/living together/single/widow, marriage certificate/divorce papers, or partnership contract, etc. (with legalization)
10. Statement of the guarantor in Suriname (in case of insufficient funds of the applicant)
11. A valid travel insurance/health insurance

Concubine:

If you are applying for the Authorization for Temporary Stay (MKV) for purposes of partner reunion (concubine), you have to upload the following documents for Temporary Stay Visa:

1. Passport cover page
2. Passport bio page
3. Scan of written or stamped passport pages of last 3 visits
4. Birth certificate (with legalization)
5. Certificate of “good conduct” (from the Police department, with legalization).

If you are applying for the Authorization for Temporary Stay (MKV) for purposes of medical reasons, you have to upload the following documents for Temporary Stay Visa:

Additional Documents in Case of Minors:

1. An authenticated authorization of the parent(s) and a copy of the family book/birth certificate in case of:

• A child (up to 17 years) traveling alone (with legalization)
• A child (up to 17 years) traveling with one of the parents (with the consent of the 2nd parent) (with legalization)

2. A copy of the judicial decision in case of adoption/legal guardianship of a minor (up to 17 years).

3. Valid travel insurance/health insurance (you need to submit this document after the MKV has been approved).

Suriname E-tourist card allows visitors to stay in Suriname for up to 90 days for tourism purposes only.

Suriname E-tourist card facility is available for nationals of the following 52 countries:

You can submit your application through the VFS website. The first step of the E-Tourist Card application is to register on the website. Provide all the requested information and upload the necessary documents. If you are a minor, it may be necessary to upload additional documents.

Notes to Consider While Applying for a Suriname E-tourist Card:

• In this step, you will have to select the country or region as per the passport that you hold. If you have dual nationality, you must select the nationality of the passport that you will use for travel.
• The passport that you use for the application must be the same as that you will use while traveling to Suriname. If different, then your E-Tourist card will be invalid.
• Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival in Suriname. The passport should have at least 1 blank page for use by the Suriname Immigration Officer.
• Each traveler must obtain an individual E-Tourist Card, including infants and children.
• During your E-Tourist Card application, make sure that the information provided by you matches exactly with the information on your passport, otherwise your E-Tourist Card will be invalid. Once the E-Tourist Card is processed, the information provided cannot be changed.

The fee to be paid for Suriname E-Tourist Card is USD 40. Additional service fee in the amount of USD 14 charged as well.
