On April 19, 2019, in accordance with the decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Suriname an electronic visa of Suriname and an electronic tourist card were created in cooperation with the Visa Center VFS Global. Thus, citizens of all countries in the world have the opportunity to apply for a Surinamese visa electronically.

Suriname E-visa
All nationals from all countries who normally are required to obtain a visa to travel to Suriname can apply for Suriname E-visa.
The visa-exempted nationals can also apply for E-visa in order to increase their duration of stay (more than visa-exempted days) in Suriname. You will apply for a Suriname E-visa online. You can apply for an e-visa by clicking here.

The temporary stay visa grants entry to Suriname on the basis that you will be applying for a residence permit. It enables you to enter Suriname as a potential resident and stay while you apply for residency.
Authorization for Suriname Temporary Stay

Required Documents to Apply for a Suriname Family Reunion Visa:
If you are applying for the Authorization for Temporary Stay (MKV) for purposes of family reunion, you have to upload the following documents for Temporary Stay Visa:
- Passport cover page
- Passport bio page
- Scan of written or stamped passport pages of last 3 visits
- Birth certificate (with legalization)
- Certificate of “good conduct” (from the police department, with legalization)
- Recently medical report or health certificate (not older than 3 months)
- Bank statements or other documents/information proving sufficient financial means during the stay in Suriname.
- An authenticated copy of the temporary stay permit of the country of residence (for a family reunion).
- If married/divorced/living together/single/widow, marriage certificate/divorce papers, or partnership contract, etc. (with legalization)

Concubine:

Additional Documents in Case of Minors:
1. An authenticated authorization of the parent(s) and a copy of the family book/birth certificate in case of:
- A child (up to 17 years) traveling alone (with legalization)
- A child (up to 17 years) traveling with one of the parents (with the consent of the 2nd parent) (with legalization)
2. A copy of the judicial decision in case of adoption/legal guardianship of a minor (up to 17 years).

Suriname E-tourist card allows visitors to stay in Suriname for up to 90 days for tourism purposes only.

You can submit your application through the VFS website. The first step of the E-Tourist Card application is to register on the website. Provide all the requested information and upload the necessary documents. If you are a minor, it may be necessary to upload additional documents.
Notes to Consider While Applying for a Suriname E-tourist Card:
- In this step, you will have to select the country or region as per the passport that you hold. If you have dual nationality, you must select the nationality of the passport that you will use for travel.
- The passport that you use for the application must be the same as that you will use while traveling to Suriname. If different, then your E-Tourist card will be invalid.
- Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival in Suriname. The passport should have at least 1 blank page for use by the Suriname Immigration Officer.
- Each traveler must obtain an individual E-Tourist Card, including infants and children.
- During your E-Tourist Card application, make sure that the information provided by you matches exactly with the information on your passport, otherwise your E-Tourist Card will be invalid. Once the E-Tourist Card is processed, the information provided cannot be changed.
Suriname E-tourist Card Fee
The fee to be paid for Suriname E-Tourist Card is USD 40. Additional service fee in the amount of USD 14 charged as well.

My Suriname e-visa was refused. Will my Suriname visa fee be refunded?
The Visa fee and service fee levied to the applicant are non-refundable.
How will I receive my Suriname e-visa or E-Tourist card?
All E-Visas or E-Tourist Cards are sent to the email address informed at the time of registration. The E-Visa or E-Tourist card will also be available for download in PDF format when you log in to the Suriname visa website.
My passport is expiring soon, can I still get a Suriname visa?
All visitors must have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival. If your passport validity is less than 6 months, you have to renew your passport before you can apply for an e-visa. The passport should also have at least 1 blank page for use by the Immigration Officer.
My Suriname e-visa was issued with incorrect information. What should I do?
If your Suriname e-visa was issued with incorrect information, it could be corrected by contacting the service desk. Please note that the amount of time to correct the Suriname e-visa will depend on the type of error.
If I have a Credit/Debit card, can I use someone else’s Credit/Debit card to make Suriname visa fees payment?
It is not mandatory for the Credit/Debit card to be in the name of the applicant.
I was requested to provide additional documents, but I will not be able to submit it within 30 days. What will happen to my application and visa fees?
If you do not submit the additional documents within 30 days, your Suriname e-visa will be denied, and you will have to start a new application. Fees paid will not be refunded.
Will I definitely get a visa if I apply online? If I get a visa, am I guaranteed entry in Suriname?
The decision to grant entry visas for Suriname is entirely at the discretion of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs. No one can guarantee that your e-visa application will be approved. The ultimate decision for further access to Surinamese territory lies with the (Airport) Immigration Service.
I made a family Suriname E-visa or Suriname E-tourist card application. All the Suriname E-visa or Suriname E-tourist card applications were approved, except for mine. What should my family do?
Although it is possible to apply as a family, each application is analyzed separately. If your E-visa or E-tourist card was denied, you can reapply for another E-visa or E- tourist card (but the rest of your family can travel).
If my Suriname e-visa application is rejected, can I apply again?
Yes, you can re-apply using the Online service.
Which passport or travel document holders are eligible to apply for Suriname E-visa?
Passport holders of all nationalities are eligible to apply for Suriname E-visa except passport holders of nationalities from countries who have signed a visa waiver agreement with the Republic of Suriname.
