Foreigners wishing to enter Mongolia must receive visas of the sort suitable to the intention of their visit. Nationals of those countries who have signed visa exemption agreements with Mongolia shall not be necessary to acquire a visa if the visit's length does not extend the time permitted under those arrangements. The visa is a permit issued by the Mongolian Immigration Agency or by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs authorizing visas for foreign nationals by the Mongolian Representative Office or border point. If you intend to visit Mongolia for tourism, business, study, or other activities for a period shorter than 30 days, depending on your nationality, you might be required to obtain a Mongolia Tourist visa first. The Mongolia Tourist visa allows you to stay in Mongolia for up to 30 days within 90 days. It may be extended further 30 days if you apply to the Immigration Agency of Mongolia for an extension not fewer than 4 days before the expiry of your visa term.

Mongolia Tourist visa can be issued to a foreigner who has no residence or occupation in Mongolia and whose primary aim of visiting Mongolia is leisure, sightseeing, casual visits to relatives, etc.

No. According to International Agreements of Mongolia, it is not possible to extend the visa-free travel period, and a foreign citizen traveling for more than a visa-free period must obtain a visa in advance.
