Switzerland visa types

There are three Switzerland visa types:

  1. Schengen Visa - short-stay visa
  2. Transit Visa
  3. National Visa for - long-stay visa

Switzerland Schengen Visa

Switzerland is part of the Schengen area. Therefore, you need to obtain a Switzerland Schengen Visa for a short visit (less than 90 days). The purpose of your trip can be tourism, visiting friends and family, a business trip, short-term training, and other short-term purposes, which means that to get a Switzerland tourist visa, you need to apply for a Schengen visa of Switzerland.

Depending on the type of visa, it can be single, double, or multiple entries. The validity period of a single entry visa covers the period specified in the application form. Also, this visa gives freedom of movement within the Schengen area. Holders of multiple entry Schengen visas can travel freely to all EU countries.

Long Stay Visa Switzerland

Applicants who would like to stay in Switzerland for more than 90 days must apply for a long stay Switzerland visa in your country of residence. The national visa allows the applicant to enter the country as a potential resident and apply for a residence permit within the first three months of your stay. If you would like to get Switzerland Work Visa, you need to apply for long stay visa Switzerland.
