Details about the South Korea Evisa or K-ETA

The South Korea visa waiver program, or South Korea ETA, provides eligible citizens with an electronic travel authorization that allows them to visit South Korea for short stays. This includes tourism, visiting family and friends, and business activities such as attending meetings and seminars.

The South Korea K-ETA is an online visa waiver that allows multiple entries and is valid for 2 years from approval. It allows the holder to stay between 30–180 days per entry, depending on their nationality.

The ETA South Korea was created to shorten the amount of time needed to fill out paperwork for foreign visitors by having an online application system. The K-ETA not only makes applying to travel and streamlines border control checks, but also improves security measures. This renders traveling to South Korea much safer than before.

If you are a citizen of one of the 49 countries now eligible, you can apply for a South Korea visa waiver by filling out the Korean ETA application online. The entire process takes just minutes.

If you want to visit South Korea for reasons not allowed with the ETA or stay there longer than permitted, reach out to the local consulate or embassy of South Korea for more information on other types of travel visas.

ETA South Korea Requirements:

A few requirements must be met in order to apply for a South Korea ETA visa online, which are listed below.

  • A valid passport from an eVisa-eligible country
  • A valid debit or credit card to pay the Korea ETA fee
  • A current email address at which to receive a copy of the approved ETA for South Korea
  • A passport-sized photo in color.

Upon approval, applicants need only show a printed copy of the K-ETA alongside their passport to enter South Korea. Please ensure that the passport you use to fill out the ETA application form is the same one you'll be using to travel to South Korea.
