Where to visit this summer? There are plenty of popular, must-see best tourist destinations in the world, which are ideal for a summer vacation. Notably, many of us prefer to travel to islands with the most beautiful beaches and coastal areas. However, there are also many undiscovered and non touristy destinations to be explored. So, let’s take a closer look at these places, which are exceptionally pleasant in the summer.

Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest metropolis

Almaty

, Kazakhstan, is one of the most beautiful cities in Asia. The city is called Almaty because of the popularity of apples grown in the region. It is the city where urban life is in harmony with nature. You will get a chance to see the snow-capped peaks of the Tian Shan Mountains if the weather is clear. It just takes an hour of ride by car to witness spectacular landscapes. The city, which hosts international events, is highly developed economically, commercially, and culturally. You can travel to this city, welcoming the thousands of visitors with its unusual natural beauty and deep history, in any season. Republic Square, one of the most visited attractions in the city, is a place for official ceremonies and events. You can also visit one of the valuable museums in Kazakhstan - the Central State Museum, 300 meters away from Republic Square. This museum exhibits more than 300 works, even the ones belonging to the Bronze Age. It will be guilt not to mention the Big Almaty Lake while talking about Almaty’s must-visit attractions. You should definitely not leave Almaty without visiting the lake surrounded by mountains and having a picturesque landscape every season. The remnants of old Soviet architecture, the attractions mentioned above, and more make this city one of the must-see and nice cities to visit in the summer.

Kuala Lumpur, the Heart of Malaysia

kuala lumpur

Being a popular tourist destination to start travel to Asia, Kuala Lumpur is located in the middle of the Malaysian Peninsula, 50 kilometers from the Strait of Malacca. It is a magnificent city where you can meet people of different races and hear unfamiliar foreign languages while walking in the night markets or streets. As in every town with a lot of ethnic diversity, Kuala Lumpur reflects the multi-ethnic cuisine, which can be experienced in almost every restaurant. You can easily find Chinese and Malay restaurants where you can taste different flavors. Besides, it will be easy for you to walk and explore the city as most of the population speaks English.

Tyrol, beautiful regions of Austria

Where to visit this summer in Europe? Well, if you are bored with the popular cities in Europe, then you should definitely travel to the state of Tyrol. There located one of the hidden gems of Europe - Lake Achen. With 9 km long and 1.3 km wide, the lake is one of the largest lakes in the Alps. The area is very touristy with 4-star hotels and beaches. You can explore the place by taking a walk around the lake’s incredible beauty and the surrounding mountains. Boat trips are ever-popular to see the surrounding. It is only possible to visit the traditional mountain restaurant Gaisalm with a breathtaking view on foot and boat. Although considered one of the non touristy destinations during the summer, this fantastic lake is waiting for you to be revealed during this season.

Ladakh, land of high passes in India

I would like to speak of Ladakh, one of the best places to travel in the world with its mountains, land, sun and hospitable people. From the language to its architecture and music, Ladakh is close to Tibetan culture than to India. The name is derived from the Tibetan word “La dags.” The locals mostly use home-grown vegetables and boiled rice. There are many different dishes, such as Tagi (small pastry bread), Skyu, Momos. A traditional drink, gurgur cha, is very famous. The best tech product you can find in Ladakh homes, far from technology, is a black and white TV. The Ladakh people leave infants who have died, in a river or mountain without burying them, since they have a belief that in this way, their souls will come to the Earth sooner. Others are cremated. According to their beliefs, when the rising smoke return to the Earth through snow, hail, and rain, the spirits of the dead are reborn. With its different cultures and beliefs, Ladakh is a good place to visit, although not recognized as one of the nice cities to visit in the summer.

Mostar, historic town Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the best places to travel, especially for history lovers. You will have an imaginary journey to the past while walking on the country’s streets, bearing the traces of history, with closed eyes and entirely focused. The state will leave you open-mouthed with its sincere and hospitable people and fascinating landscape. Mostar Bridge is an old structure over the Neretva River that divides Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The traces of history can easily be seen while examining the bridge, which has witnessed many events. Probably, if you go closer to the bridge and listen, it will reveal the stories. Built-in 1566, it was designed by Mimar Hayruddin, one of Mimar Sinan’s students. The bridge was so admired that the area it was located became so-called, Mostar. Fearless athletes have used Mostar Bridge as a jumping platform for many years. Traditionally, city residents jumped off the bridge before the wedding to prove their bravery to their fiance. Mostar Bridge, along with the old city of Mostar, was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2005. Although the area is not very touristy in the summer, it is definitely one of the best answers to the question of where to travel this summer.
