Wooden Church is one of the best Instagrammable places in Miskolc. The initial form of the church that we see today was built back in 1637, but unfortunately, no recordings have been passed to this generation about the existence of the church, so it is solely people’s claim. The first document mentioning a church at this site dates to 1698. This church was built of wood, but nothing else is known about it. The Wooden Church, which is the place you will take Instagrammable pictures in front of during your travel to Miskolc, was built in 1999 as the previous version was destroyed in 1997. The Hanging Gardens are situated just under the hotel building, between the Szinva and Garadna streams. Were you looking for more of the fascinating nature of Hungary? I am pretty sure the highest waterfall in Hungary will assure you that. It is 20 meters high, but worth to mention the fact that the waterfall is actually handmade. The water comes from internal water tubes. Some terraces on the way up to the Palace Hotel have names such as "Terrace of Youth and Meetings," which is the area where you can find outdoor entertainment. Another terrace is called “Terrace of Flowers” where you can take pictures or just basically walk around the colourful flowers. And the best part of it is that the flower beds are there all summer long. No wonder Hanged Gardens are known as the most Instagrammable places in the city.

9. Waterfall of Lillafured

It is very hard to believe that the waterfall is actually artificial, as it is very nicely placed between rocks and forest that guarantees to impress you and all of your Instagram followers fully. The main reason why the waterfall exists today is because of the Palace Hotel's construction as it was needed to change the direction of the water for the project to be implemented. Worth to mention again that it is the highest waterfall in Hungary at the height of 20 metres, which varies with the Miskolc weather.

10. Hamori lake

Another stunning place to go in Hungary is Hamori Lake, located in Miskolc. It is another humanmade water surface that is especially popular among tourists. The lake was formed when two streams nearby (Szinva and Garadna) were joint at the beginning of the 19th century. During the summer period, you can rent bikes or even boats to enjoy the beauty of the lake from various points. Lake right in the middle of the forest, what can be a better Instagrammable place? Let’s also not forget that in winter when the lake freezes, visitors of the city can also enjoy offered winter sports on it.

11. Lillafured State Forest Railway

The railway running through Dorottya Street station in Miskolc and even to the deep parts of the Bukk Mountains. Originally the trains were built to carry the industrial products and raw materials, as Miskolc is one of the most industrialized cities in Hungary. The line travels through gorges and abrupt drops, so you will contemplate picturesque mountain views from the carriage. Bear in mind that Lillafured State Forest Railway is operating solely on diesel which makes the road a bit noisy and bumpy. However, as the road passes almost all the Miskolc places to visit, I think that it is a great help for visitors.

12. Miskolctapolca Cave Bath

miskolctapolca cave bath

Baths are one of the favourite places to go to Hungary for tourists, and Miskolc is no exception. The Miskolctapolca is based in a cave rich with minerally rich hot springs. Temperature is usually fluctuating around 30 °C and doesn’t only play a huge role in leisure but also is very important for different diseases.
