Qatar Visa Policy

You can realize your planned trip to Qatar by obtaining a Qatar visa. Foreign nationals can apply to Qatar short-term visas (Tourist visa, E-visa) for temporary reasons (tourism, business, cultural, and other short-term purposes). If you want to stay in Qatar for a longer period for some reason, you can also apply for Qatar residence permits after arriving in Qatar.

Qatar has a visa-free regime for most of the countries and their nationals. If you are not a visa-exempted national, you can apply for Qatar E-visa to realize your trip.

Additional to the visa-exempted nationals, citizens from the below countries can get a Qatar Visa on Arrival, which will allow them to enter both Qatar and Oman for the next 30 days:

India and Pakistan citizens can enter Qatar without a visa if they can present the required documents below at the border control:

• Passport (valid for at least next 6 months)
• A confirmed return ticket
• A confirmed hotel reservation
• A valid debit or credit card
• Proof of vaccination against polio disease (for Pakistani nationals, if they travel from Pakistan directly)

If you are not a visa-exempted national or not eligible for a Visa on Arrival, you can apply for Qatar E-visa (excluding Israel, Egypt, Kosovo, and Palestine nationals) to realize your trip.

Qatar E-visa validity duration is 30 days and it is considered for single-entry. You can extend your E-visa’s validity within Qatar for the next 30 days.

Required Documents for Qatar E-visa

1. Passport

• Validity minimum of six months beyond the date of your departure from Qatar.
• Signed by holder
• Passport not older than 10 years (issued in the last 10 years)
• At least one or two free “visa pages”
• Undamaged pictures securely affixed with/to passport

2. Photo

• NEW! Should not be older than 6 months.
• A frontal view of the face-covering 70-80% (32-26mm) of the photo.
• A uniform and white background.
• Clear facial features and eyes – not covered by hair or glasses frame.
• 3x4 size

3. Travel Itinerary

• Confirmed hotel booking
• Confirmed ticket (return ticket also)

4. If You will Stay with Your Family/friend:

• Invitation letter (Letter of authority)
• Their Qatar ID and residence visas
• Copy of their passport’s first page
• Copy of their home rental contract

5. When You Arrive in Qatar, You must Present also:

• Your printed Qatar E-visa
• Travel itinerary

Qatar E-visa fee is 100 QAR (about 27 USD) for all nationals.

Where to Apply for Qatar E-visa Application?

You will apply for Qatar E-visa online through this website. Your E-visa will be sent to your e-mail address once it is ready.

You can extend your Qatar E-visa for the next 30 days within Qatar. You can realize this visa extension process online through this website. All you must do is entering your passport number, visa number, and security code there, a period of extension, and pay the extension fee of QAR 200 (about 55 USD).

Visa-exempted nationals (for 30 days) can also apply for visa extension for the next 30 days through the same application within Qatar.

All foreign citizens who need a visa to enter Qatar are able to transit through Qatar without a visa for up to 5 hours, but only if they remain within the airport transfer lounge. To transit over Qatar for longer periods and to be able to leave the airport lounge, it will be necessary to hold an approved transit visa for the country.

Qatar Transit visa is issued for free and is valid for 96 hours (4 days). Transit visas cannot be extended within Qatar. If you want to stay in Qatar for a longer period than 4 days, you should apply for Qatar E-visa.
