Overview
You do not need a Transit visa - if during a stopover at a German airport, you do not leave the International Airport Area and if the final destination is a non-Schengen member State.
Only five airports in Germany have an International Transit Area enabling you to transit without formally entering the Schengen area:
However, if for some reason you need to enter the Schengen area during your stopover (for example, to change terminals or if your final destination is one of the Schengen countries), you may require to apply for a Schengen visa – Category C, therefore please plan for this accordingly. You must apply for a German transit or tourist visa well before you travel.
Nationals of the following countries do not have the transit privilege and require an airport transit visa (category A) for transit at all German airports:
* Jordanian nationals who hold a visa to Australia, Israel, or New Zealand do NOT require an Airport Transit Visa for Germany
** Turkish holders of Service and Official passports do NOT require an Airport Transit Visa for Germany
Exceptions from the requirement to hold an airport transit visa:

The average processing time for a Germany Au Pair visa is 20-90 calendar days. It depends on your visa application country.
Germany Au Pair visa Fee is 75 EUR for aged 17 and above. The national visa fee for minors (0-17) is 37.5 EUR. The fee may vary depending on your nationality or your country of submission.
You will apply for a Germany Au Pair visa in Germany visa application centers, embassies, or consulates, whichever accepts visa applications in your country of residence. If there is none of them in your country, you need to apply to the nearest embassy or consulate to your location.
You must meet certain requirements to enter Germany, even if you are not required a visa:
This visa gives permission to its holder to enter the Schengen Area (all 26 member States) as many times as they wish, within a period of 1, 3, 5 years. However, even in this case, the visa holder is limited to remaining in the Schengen Area no longer than 90 days within a 180-day period.
A Schengen visa is issued for a maximum period of stay of three months and cannot be extended. The visa must be applied for, by the traveler personally, at the German Foreign Mission abroad, which is responsible for the place of residence and cannot be extended in Germany, nor converted into a residence permit.
Schengen visas are valid for a maximum of 90 days (within 180 days) from your arrival date. The Schengen visa is not valid before the arrival date you provide on your visa application.
An airport transit visa is valid for the period it takes you to transfer between flights in a German airport.
National visas are usually issued for three months but can be valid up to 12 months, depending on your reason for requesting a visa. The national visa will cover you while your residence permit application is processed.
It depends on the type of visa you apply for. As a foreign national, you are not permitted to work in Germany unless your expressly stated purpose when applying for a visa was employment.
It is possible to extend the validity of visas only in exceptional cases, such as a natural disaster. This must be done at the Foreigners’ Office (Ausländerbehörde) covering your area of residence.
If your German visa application is rejected, you will be notified by your mission that your application has been unsuccessful. You will be informed of the grounds on which it was rejected and have one month to appeal the decision by writing to the German mission. Your application will then be reconsidered.
All applicants must appear in person in the Embassy/Consulate or Visa Application Center for the submission of the documents since the identity needs to be verified, and biometric data must be collected. Please contact local German representatives for more precise information.
This visa allows you to enter the other Schengen Member States as well, but not to enter other European countries, such as Croatia, Bulgaria, etc.
This visa entitles you to travel outside of Germany, within the Schengen Agreement, and other European countries.
You will need to apply for a transit visa at the Germany visa application center, embassy, or consulate, whichever accepts visa applications, in your country of residence.
